Coinciding with the opening of the Hong Kong Magis Flagship Store, September 4th also marked the inauguration of the exhibition “New British Inventors: Inside Heatherwick Studio” at PMQ. The exhibition (which has already proved hugely successful at its previous venues in Beijing and Shanghai, and will be moving on to Seoul and Mumbai after Hong Kong) presents twenty years of Studio Heatherwick designs, using life-size prototypes, models, drawings and photos, highlighting the attention that the studio and its founder Thomas Heatherwick dedicate to new ideas, materials, technologies and processes. Alongside the exhibition, a separate installation is also being presented in Pacific Place, featuring the rotating Spun chairs, developed in 2010 by Thomas Heatherwick for Magis, with special versions in exclusive colours created for the event.
